Cable/Harness Testing Made Easy.

Do you have a good grasp of what capacitance is all about in cable assemblies?   At the Wire Harness Manufacturer's Conference in Hershey a fellow attendee thanked me for our educational videos and said "For a mechanical guy like me I wish you would explain capacitance. I understand volts, amps and ohms with Ohms Law. But I get lost with capacitance."

With this newsletter we work on removing some of the mystery behind capacitance and how it might impact your testing.

If you have any questions or comments, call us at 1-800-441-9910.

In a previous newsletter we explained the desired properties of cables: conductors that conduct by having low resistance and insulation that prevents current flow even with high voltages applied.   Capacitance can create current flow between insulated wires whenever voltages are changing.   To learn how this happens and the effects it can have on testing, see our video this month at:

    Capacitance in Cable Testing

Cables are like capacitors!

This month's video: How Capacitance Affects Cable and Harness Testing
